Emma's Homemade Candles
This customer story comes from Emma, the owner of Emma's Homemade Candles. Emma’s lovely little etsy shop is home to a range of beautiful homemade candles with scents inspired by traditional and well known scents. Let’s get to know why Emma got into candle making and what advice she would give to those who are thinking of trying candle making for themselves.
Emma has been obsessed with candles and wax melts for as long as she can remember. When lockdown started she decided to try out making her own candles. She decided to play around with scents, jars, wicks and wax and finally she found the perfect way to make her own candles. Emma is now selling her divine smelling creations on her Etsy store and she’s super excited to see where this journey takes her!
We wanted to know what made Emma try her hand at candle and wax melt making. She told us that when lockdown began she knew she would want something to take her mind off not being able to do the normal stuff she usually does, which is why she turned to candles and wax melts. She started with one of our candle making starter kits and it took off from there.
When we asked Emma if there was a story behind her name and brand, it was quite simple. Her name is Emma and she makes lovely homemade candles, there may not be a reason behind the name, but her banding reflects the authenticity of her carefully crafted products.
So how does Emma choose which scents to use in her candles and wax melts? She tends to opt for some of our popular dupes. Lush snow fairy only comes out every Christmas and she loves it! So she decided to make candles of this particular scent so that she could have it whenever she wanted! Aside from dupes, Emma tends to go for more traditional scents. For her, Vanilla is that scent that she never gets sick of smelling and she finds that linen fresh is the most refreshing of smells!
As a budding candle maker and entrepreneur, we wanted to know what advice Emma would give to those hoping to build their own candle business. Emma suggested buying a candle starter kit! It doesn't have to be an expensive one, just get it and take it from there! Being able to make something and then being able to watch others enjoy the way they look and smell is amazing.
