How To Make Candy Cane Wax Melts
Using our marbling pour method, you can craft your very own Christmassy Candy Cane Wax Melts! Pair with one of our festive fragrances for the perfect seasonal treat. Read our step by step guide below to master the art of marbling your wax melts for unique outcomes everytime.
What you need:
- EcoSoya Melt
- Red Liquid Candle Dye
- Clamshell
- Scales
- Thermometer
- Pouring jug
- Fragrance oil
- Saucepan
- Bowl
Step 1 - Measure
Firstly using your bowl and scales, measure out 80 grams of EcoSoya Melt Wax.
We like to use this wax as it exhibits a great scent throw, vibrant colours, and excellent mould release.
It's also vegan, cruelty-free and eco-friendly, what's not to love?
Step 2 - Melt
Next up, fill your pan halfway with boiling water.
Melt your wax on a medium to low heat and stir until melted.
Once your wax has melted, you can take it off the heat.
If you prefer to melt your max in the microwave, you can do so by placing your wax in a container on a medium heat for 5 minutes.
If your wax is not completely melted, stir and put it back in the microwave until melted.
Step 3 - Fragrance
Let your wax cool to 65 degrees before adding your chosen fragrance oil. To match our Christmassy Candy Cane Wax Melts we used a fragrance from our festive range, but you could choose any scent you like!
Step 4 - Separate
Equally, split your wax between two separate pouring jugs.
Step 5 - Colour
At any temperature, you can add your red liquid dye to one of your jugs and mix in with your melted wax and fragrance. We have chosen red to create a marbled candy cane effect, but you can use any colour you like!
Step 6 - Pour
Slowly pour your jugs simultaneously into your clamshell. Try not to mix the two batches of wax too much or you will lose the marble effect. At this stage, your wax mixture will look very red but trust the setting process! The white of the wax is opaque when melted but will dry white when left to cure.
All done!
Leave your wax melts to set, you'll soon be able to see the marbling effect! For a cure time, we recommend around 2 weeks to ensure your hot throw is the best it can be!
We’d love to see your work!
