The heart
Step 1 - Measure
Measure out 80 grams of container wax for your heart clam shell or mould.
We have used EcoSoya CB Advanced because it has excellent scent throw, glass adhesion and highly resistant to frosting.
Step 2 - Melt
Next fill your pan halfway with boiling water.
Melt your wax on a medium to low heat and stir until melted.
If you prefer to melt your max in the microwave, you can do so by placing your wax in a container on a medium heat for 5 minutes.
If your wax is not completely melted, stir it and put it back in the microwave until melted.
Step 3 - Dye
Once melted take your wax off the heat, add a few drops of dye and stir.
We have used pink candle dye, but you can use any colour.
Why not your partners or friends favourite colour?
Step 4 - Pour
Cool your wax to between 55 to 60 degrees then pour into your mould and leave to set.
Pour gently to avoid spilling or overflowing.

Step 5 - Wick
Get your self a 30cl glass, making sure its clean and dry.
Peel off the wick stick ums and place it onto the end of your wick.
Then peel off the other side and place the wick in the middle of your 30cl glass.
Step 6 - Measure
Measure out 220 grams of your chosen container wax for your candle.
Step 7 - Melt
Fill your plan halfway with boiling water.
Melt your wax on a medium to low heat and stir until melted.
Once your wax has melted thoroughly take off the heat.
Step 8 - Fragrance
Wait until your wax has cooled to 65 degrees then add your chosen fragrance.
We have opted for rose as it's sophisticated and elegant.
You could choose the recipient's favorite perfume or aftershave.
See our dupe list here.
Step 9 - Pour
Transfer your wax into a pouring jug and then pour your wax into your 30cl glass.
Leave about one inch of space from the top, save a bit of your melted wax for later, to embed the heart.
Then add a wick centering tool and leave your candle to set for up to 2 hours.
Step 10 - Embed the heart
Wait until your candle is firm to the touch but not fully set.
This will prevent jump lines, when you add the leftover wax.
Place your set wax melts on top of the candle.
Reheat the leftover wax and allow to cool to 50 degrees before pouring.
If you pour at a higher temperature this may cause the wax melt heart to melt into your candle and your colour will run.
Leave your candle to set overnight before lighting.
Done!
Now you know how to embed a wax melt into a candle, why not try a different shape or add more than one?
There are lots of moulds to choose from, Christmas tress, star and more!
We’d love to see your work!
