Stock Controller

Purpose

To support the buying needs of the Purchasing Manager by ensuring variants are in stock and stock numbers are accurate in support of SFC business requirements, ensuring the business has sufficient stocks to meet the demands of the customers.

Principal Accountabilities

  • To ensure stock is accurate and perpetual stock checks are carried out.
  • Review stock of products on a daily basis to assess requirements for assembly order raising; from a proactive approach as well as reactive.
  • Creating assembly orders for the warehouse through demand planner.
  • Creating assembly orders for fill-to orders.
  • Prioritising workload in line with business needs.
  • Tracking assembly orders through to completion.
  • Booking back in of assembly orders ensuring stock is booked in to correct locations.
  • Setting up of default locations.
  • QC check assembly orders to ensure correct fills are being maintained.
  • Create a low inventory report in Brightpearl to review stock.
  • Use WMS to create transfer reports to ensure pickface has sufficient stock.
  • Liaising with replenishment/warehouse to ensure transfers are carried out.
  • Responsible for monitoring of returns and booking items back into stock/locations where necessary.
  • Develop and apply knowledge of procurement basics, legal requirements, and ethical conduct.
  • Ability to manage several projects at one time and meet agreed deadlines.
  • Be used to working in a fast-paced environment and able to keep a cool head whilst multi-tasking.
  • Ensure stock availability targets are met.
  • Data input for databases & excel spreadsheets.
  • Provide the necessary information, in a timely manner, to all other departments as required to facilitate planning in all departments of the business.
  • Liaise with marketing, customer service and warehouse regarding all stock issues that will affect them.
  • Know, understand, and incorporate the company philosophy, values and vision in all behaviour, practice and decisions.
  • Health and safety compliance.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Key Competencies

  • Highly organised and able to prioritise to best achieve maximum results from available resources.
  • Proven track record within a fast moving, preferable e-retail business.
  • Strong business acumen especially regarding helping achieve the wider business objectives of the company.
  • Able to work independently but also a good team player with good written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with time management.
  • Well organised with excellent attention to detail and willing to adopt a hands-on approach.
  • Ability to manage several projects at one time and meet agreed deadlines.

Background Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems an advantage.
  • Experience with WMS an advantage.
  • 1 years demonstrable or relevant work experience in stock control and/or purchasing.
  • Competent computer skills and working knowledge of MS office applications.
